My name is Susan Fowler (you may also know me by my married name, Susan Rigetti). I'm a writer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I’m currently the technology op-ed editor at The New York Times, where I also edit the “Op-Eds From the Future” series.

I previously worked at Stripe as the founding editor in chief of Increment (which Kara Swisher dubbed "The New Yorker for geeks"). Before that, I worked as a software engineer at various companies in Silicon Valley.

As one of the "Silence Breakers,” I was TIME's Person of the Year. The Financial Times also chose me as their Person of the Year in 2017. In 2018, I was awarded a Webby for Person of the Year. I've been profiled by Maureen Dowd in The New York Times, and have appeared on the cover of Politico magazine, the cover of TIME magazine, as well as on lots of lists, including: The Recode 100Vanity Fair's New Establishment ListThe Politico 50Fortune's 40 Under 40Marie Claire's New Guard List, the Bloomberg 50, the Upstart 50, and more.
